The purpose of this project is to upgrade the production of Diesel and Gasoline products and get them in compliance with the future Clean Transportation of Fuels Specifications for Gasoline and Diesel. The refinery, where the project is executed, was licensed by one of the major global players.
Project Challenges
- Sourcing of Raw materials and Bought outs from approved vendors across the globe under the stringent specification within the project schedule were the biggest challenges. Maximum sub-vendors were from overseas and delivery lead time (Including logistics) were the biggest challenges.
- Engineering alignment for the complex design of Loop Dyer Package.

- The regeneration consists of 2 steps; (A) Reactivation Heating & (B) Reactivation cooling.
- Optimization of Process design of complete package aligning with the project specifications and client’s special requirement.
- To overcome the challenges, close monitoring, aggressive follow-ups, and coordination with the overseas and Indian sub-vendors, effective logistics resulted from successful execution within the project schedule.

Control Strategy

Multitex approach for the sequence of operation controlling and monitoring the dryer system is well designed smart instrumented logical operation to achieve fully automated high performance and safe cycles as per process data operational requirements. The automation of the Dryer process minimized the errors in the monitoring process and human intervention to achieve:
- Initial (Very First) Startup
- Depressurization
- Heating
- Purging
- Cooling
- Re-Pressurization
- Dryer operation is performed automatically by a programmable logic controller (PLC) or Distributed Control System (DCS).
- The sequence program is designed with interlock conditions to achieve the required cycles. Any incomplete step due to fault in On/Off valve or abnormal process condition is flagged with alarm on HMI and not let the next step initiate unless a fault is fixed. Sophisticated interlock and permissive, if desired, may not allow the operator to force or alter the step even in manual mode to avoid bed upsetting. However, such an operation could be implemented upon the involvement of higher decision-making operation staff through soft key permission.
- All key dynamic process parameters are animated to show the time versus value as the graphic chart on HMI to monitor the performance of the dryer and help in decision making to change the Mol Sieve.
- Multitex experts always keep improving the smart instrumented interlocks for the safe and smooth operational requirement of the dryer to provide the right product to industries.
Service
All package systems executed by Multitex were done under stringent delivery due to the projects’ nature, which involves special studies during the construction and installation phase for timely and reliable execution. The studies include building a proper installation procedure and selecting the right type of component to optimize on given space and ease the installation effort.
- We further support with necessary commissioning, operational and inventory spares management.
- Multitex support and services extend after supplies, and Factory Acceptance test to logistics management, Installation, Hook-Ups, Start-Up, Cold / Hot Commissioning, and Performance Guarantee Test Run till successful hand-over until the warranty period.
